Philippe de Verdalle joined Weinberg Capital Partners in 2015 to launch a new area of expertise for the firm with the creation of the Nobel team, applying an investment strategy focused on listed companies with a private equity approach.
Philippe has many years of experience as an investment professional. He began his career as a financial analyst, followed by a stint at a New York investment bank. From 2000 to 2012, Philippe headed up the proprietary investment activities of CCF, now HSBC France, with an investment strategy targeting mid-cap listed companies and focused on the long term and common interests. At the time, these activities were being carried out by a holding company called Nobel, and Weinberg Capital Partners wanted to retain this name when creating its area of expertise for investments in listed companies. From 2012 to 2015, Philippe was a member of the Management Committee at UBS France responsible for major accounts. In this position, he assisted families with their decisions concerning their industrial assets.
Philippe is a graduate of the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), is certified as an investment analyst by the Société Française des Analystes Financiers (SFAF) and holds an MBA from INSEAD. From 1998 to 2011, he was a member of the teaching faculty for the master’s programme in finance and strategy at Sciences Po.
