Supported by WCP, Alliance Marine expands internationally with the acquisition of Bukh Bremen in Germany

Alliance Marine closes its first international build-up with the acquisition of Bukh Bremen bringing total Revenues above €120m. Headquartered in Toulon, Alliance Marine is the undisputed leader in marine equipment and spare parts BtoB distribution in France with a comprehensive product offering ranging from technical services and solutions for yacht and boat builders, material and parts for boatyards, spare parts and pieces for repair shops and mechanics, to equipment and products for wholesalers, chandlers and shops.


Based in Bremen, Bukh Bremen is a leading BtoB distributor on the German and Austrian markets with Revenues above €15m. The Company addresses both recreational and professional boating through a portfolio of c. 50,000 technical products.

The two managers, Andrew Winkley and Jens Ellerman, join the team of Alliance Marine and will head Bukh Bremen’s activities and the development of the Group in Germany and Austria.
As explained by Jean-Paul Roche, the CEO of the Group, the transaction has a strong strategic interest for Alliance Marine : « The acquisition perfectly meets the objectives settled in September 2016 when WCP took over the Group. Bukh Bremen is a leading Company on a market poised for growth and represents the first milestone of the expansion of Alliance Marine’s geographic footprint ».

The transaction has been financed through the acquisition facility of the unitranche structured by Goldman Sachs in 2016.

Alliance Marine, which employs 375 FTEs in France, aims at accelerating its growth abroad, primarily in Germany, Italy and in the Netherlands, its key priority markets, while pursuing consolidation opportunities in France.
