Pharma Omnium International
- Pharma Omnium International is a French pharmaceutical laboratory specialized in mature pharmaceutical products. Weinberg Capital Partners' investment allowed Pharma Omnium to finance the acquisition of Biodim, a laboratory which owns such pharmaceutical products as Témesta and Séresta.
- Pharma Omnium International is dedicated to commercializing mature pharmaceutical products with a high degree of notoriety and strong growth potential, but which no longer benefit from sustained promotional efforts by major pharmaceutical companies. Weinberg Capital Partners' support allowed the Group to speed up its development with the build-up acquisition of Biodim.
- In June 2007, Pharma Omnium also acquired the Upharm laboratory, which owns Célocurine, allowing it to diversify its product portfolio. The Group's strategy is to combine organic growth and acquisitions to become a leading pharmaceutical laboratory.
- In June 2009, the group has turned a corner in its strategy by acquiring Mutabilis, a French biotech company founded in 2001 and specialised in the discovery and development of innovative anti-infective therapies. Those therapies show new mechanisms of action to address current public issues of antibiotics resistance and aim at controlling severe bacterial infections, especially hospital-acquired infections. This transaction enables Pharma Omnium International to use the cash-flow generated by its commercial activities to start a new research activity, thus strengthening the group's status as a pharmaceutical laboratory.
- POI then acquired Cellvir in May 2010. Founded in 2006, CellVir is a French biotech company created out of the research conducted by Dr Richard Benarous at the Cochin Institute in Paris. CellVir is a specialist in innovative treatments for viruses, particularly the AIDS virus. It focuses its research efforts on the resistance of the virus to existing treatments. This operation allows the group to strengthen its anti-infectious research capabilities and to consolidate its position as the French leader in innovative treatments.

A reference pharmaceutical laboratory

"In June 2007 Upharm, a start up pharmaceutical company that I created a few years earlier, was acquired by Pharma Omnium International. At the end 2007, I accepted to take over the General Management of this entity, as it has become an interesting and unique platform for further development in the pharmaceutical business. The main driver of my decision was the open mind set displayed by the managers of WCP investment fund. They were open to new strategic developments that I presented to them and ever since they kept giving me their support."
